Way too Busy

I started this blog way back in April. Six months have come and gone. I could say nothing much is going on but the exact opposite is true. My life is such a roller coaster ride that never seems to stop. I have the day off from work today and decided to update my blog. Maybe if I tell myself to update once a week I could keep up.

I just returned from a trip to Dayton,TN for my daughter's volleyball team. It was a national Christian school tournament. We placed third in Division 2. The girls were disappointed but they played well. Our guys soccer team came in first. They were an amazing team this year. We had 12 seniors on the team. Needless to say it is going to be a couple of building years for that team.

Basketball practices start this week and traveling volleyball tryouts are coming up in a few weeks.

My life truly revolves around my girls. There is basically no time for anything else. I can't say I would change anything though. They are only with me for a short time before they have their own families to keep up with.

My oldest two are doing great in college. Megan changed her major to nursing and Lauren declared her major as health wellness and fitness. I am so proud of them. They both have boyfriends. They are happy. What more can you ask for.

The one thing I did do for myself recently was to join a gym. Sounds great, right? Well it was a month ago and I have went once. I am planning on going tonight. I just need to make it a commitment. I need to find someone to keep me accountable. (Sidenote to my daughter Megan, it can't be you.) I really need to lose some weight. I know the holidays are coming and I do like food but I am going to practice self-control.

Well I must get moving for the day. I have lots to do on my day off.

Soccer Game

My two youngest daughters played their second soccer game of the season. It was a great game. My youngest, Allie is the goalie and she was great. Caitlin is a midfielder and she runs alot. I don't think I ever had that kind of stamina. She had 2 shots at the goal but didn't connect. Maybe next time. We won 2-0. That leaves us at 1-0-1. I think we have a shot at a winning season. They have struggled the last 2 years, so this is great.

When we got home, there was a package waiting for Allie. It was her birthday present from her sister Lauren. It was a bright, yellow goalie jersey. She loved it and it looks sharp on her. I can't wait to see her wear it at her next game. She has just been wearing old jerseys to be the goalie.

The next game will be on Tuesday. It is an away game. I'm not looking forward to the drive but wouldn't miss it.

My weekend will be spent watching both girls play volleyball at tournaments. I can't wait til Easter break. I am ready for a few days off and no sporting events to attend.

First thoughts

Well I have made comments on other's blogs and have now taken the steps to set up my own. We'll see how it goes. I am the mother of four daughters who mean the world to me. My older two are in college and the younger two are in junior high. I have a job working at the school where my two youngest attend. I am the elementary computer teacher and advisor to the yearbook class. I also help out in other areas where needed.

I am a very busy mom. Even though I only have 2 still at home, I feel like my life has not slowed down. Right now, each daughter is on a volleyball travel team as well as play for their school's spring soccer team. We have practice every night of the week and sometimes 2. I love to cook but never seem to have the time. That means we live off of fast food and ramen noodles.

My older two will be coming home for Easter break next week. I love having them home; however we only have one bathroom in the house. Four teenage girls plus the mom + one bathroom = alot of stressful moments at times. I tell them you have to make do with what you have.

Well this will have to be all for my first post. We'll see how it goes.
